You will write a reflection (essay) that includes: a Summary, a Discussion of Themes or main ideas in the book, Quotes of Merit related to the central idea or theme you chose, a discussion of how those quotes relate to the theme and finally, you will tell your Opinion of the book.

Summary - Discuss the characters, plot, setting, the conflict and its resolution.


Themes - Write about the themes or central ideas of the book and how they are portrayed.

Quotes - Select 5 to 7 quotes of merit. These quotes should relate to the theme or themes you mentioned and should have some meaning to you personally. You will discuss how these quotes portray the theme you selected and what significance they have for you.

Opinion - Did you like the book? Did you learn anything from it? Why is its theme relevant to you? Why should others read it? Use quotes from the book to support your opinion.

The Book Reflection should be between 3 to 5 pages typed in MLA format.
