This year I created a Common Core based curriculum for the 11th grade that promoted multiple literacies in language and media arts as well as
internet proficiency and responsibility. My students had the opportunity to interact with world renown film makers, poets and media technicians as
they published their writing, films and music on web sites they created for class. I organized the first school wide Poetry Slam and I currently serve
as the Slam Poetry Coach for the CHAMPS Panther Poets.

teaching a common core based curriculum for the 11th grade which included visiting digital effects facilities such as Technicolor, Sony Imageworks,
and Dreamworks Animation Studios. I also served on a WASC committee that helped to earn the school's accreditation for three more years.

At Centennial High School, 12 of my students were re-designated out of ELD and a majority of my students saw an improvement in their English scores for both the CAHSEE and CST. At Cesar Chavez Continuation High School, ninety percent of the students from my CAHSEE Prep class who took the CAHSEE, passed it. I have made motivating kids to succeed my life’s work. I prize diligence and honesty in others and myself. I believe communication is an end in itself and I hope that belief is reflected in my work.
