Student Council Retreat
Objectives:We will represent the CHAMPS student body well by planning and executing events and activities that celebrate the remarkable group of students assembled at our school and we will foster a culture of inclusion school wide that emanates from this diverse body. Our Student Government will work to serve not only the CHAMPS community but the future world our students will inhabit through student led activities that promote social consciousness. When the work of this year's student council is done, each member should feel empowered by the service they have rendered for their school and every student in this class should have a deeper understanding of the power they possess to change the world.

Rules and Regulations: Decorum and common courtesy within our body will be strictly enforced. It will be assumed that all members have the noble intention of serving their fellow students so all members will be respected accordingly.  Any name calling, use of derogatory language or failure to allow a student who has the floor to finish speaking will be dealt with the way any behavioral infraction is dealt with in any of Mr. Ciampa's other classes.Students may not leave the the classroom unless given permission to do so. When conducting Student Council business outside of the classroom, our representatives will afford their fellow students, faculty and staff the utmost respect. Our conduct within and without the walls of our meeting places will be exemplary.

Grade Expectations: All students new to the council will be expected to compose and deliver a short introduction detailing why they want to be a part of Student Council and what they have to offer. Prompt and regular attendance will be a minimum expectation. Students will be assessed and graded based on their level of participation, not only in committee meetings, but also in the execution of their committees plans. To help ensure the fairness of the grading process, every council member will turn in a written document briefly detailing everything they have done for student council and our school at the end of the semester.

Your faculty adviser has yet to meet a student that did not belong in Student Government. He believes in you as you should believe in yourself.
